Century Zinc Mine's first batch of 10,000 tons of zinc concentrate has been shipped

New Century Resources, one of the world's largest zinc producers, has recently loaded the first batch of 10,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate from the Queensland Port of Karumba onto the MV Wunma vessel for delivery to China's largest smelter after restarting the Century Zinc Mine in September. one of the group.

    A second batch of 10,000 tonnes of commissioning grade concentrate is expected to be shipped to China in January 2019, which will bring forward sales of US$15.3 million.

    New Century Resources managing director Patrick Volta called it a milestone for the company and an incredible achievement for the entire New Century team. The start of shipping the concentrate 15 months after launch is a testament to the strong dedication and culture within the company.

    The project has a capacity of 8 million tons/year, which is planned to grow to 15 million tons/year in the second phase. The target is scheduled to be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2019.

    Its concentrate is transported to Karumba port through a 304-kilometer pipeline developed by the company.

    And it was closed by previous owner MMG in early 2016.
